What Happened?
Hurricane Helene hit the area of Luke Lure and Chimney Rock very hard. The town of Chimney Rock was completely eroded away in the storm. Many have lost their homes and it is estimated power may not be restored for weeks to months. Basic food supplies are needed in this area.
What We Are Doing
Harvest Baptist Church is collecting donations at our church and funneling those donations into this hard-hit area. We are a small church trying to make a big difference. If you can help us by providing donations, we will purchase the materials needed and make sure those supplies reach those in need. If you would rather bring donations to the church, donations can be dropped off by coordinating directly with Pastor Dustin Duke at 813-957-0366.
Here is a list of suggested donation items:
- Cooking oatmeal
- Cans of evaporated milk
- Pop top cans of soup
- Ramen noodles
- Apple sauce cups
- Pancake mix
- Non-refrigerated milk
- Supplies for babies
(formula, baby food, diaper rash cream, etc …) - Children’s & Adult Tylenol
- Tums
- Cat food
- Lighter fluid and lighters
- Charcoal
- Filled propane tanks
- Work gloves
- Goggles
- Safety vests
- Flashlights and D-batteries
- Thick black trash-bags
